Notes and Tones.

A design proposal for the book Notes and Tones, a collection of interviews with a variety of jazz artists from the blue note period. It’s the movement and energy that I wanted to represent, using vibrant colours and impactful type, creating a sense of improvisation and rhythm. Through the type I created interactions with shapes inspired by graphic notation and the modernist movement in order to represent what makes each artist unique within the genre, doing so with nostalgic suggestions to the classic blue note records, alongside a refreshed take on jazz.
